These are motion graphics programs. very good to have this skill in graphic design. This will further your job options and pay. Learn as much as you can of the programs, this will make school a better experience because you will be able to focus more attention to learning the design rules etc.The Adobe collection is a must for the designer. You really got what you need to start with. Like stated before Adobe Flash is an awesome program that can create great web tricks. You might want to look into Adobe’s Fireworks too! I have 3dsMax and Maya which are great for 3d applications and you might want to eventually head that direction. They are little used for web design though. There are a plethora of information and tutorials on photo shop and all these programs on the web. Stay in school and never stop practicing.
