Installing ceiling light?Turn the circuit off, inspect each wall switch and verify the wires and their colors. Each switch should be a 3 way to operate properly. Disconnect the fixture and identify each wire in the ceiling. One of the wires is from a switch, one is from the panel, I suspect that one of the switches is used to feed another device down the line, but that you must verify. Also check for another wire in the ceiling if none is present then follow the instructions below.
Try wiring the fixture this way:
1. Ground to the green screw,
2. Whites together,
3. Black from the cables together,
4. Red from the cable to the blacks of the fixture.
Now try the circuit after reinstalling the light switches.
